Monday Mar 30 I plan to lower animal protein consumption. The way I keep my calories high enough is that I have a lot of fat – mostly from drinks. in 12 oz coffee or tea I have at least 1 T grass fed butter, 1 T coconut oil, 2-3 T heavy cream & little stevia.
hot cocoa many afternoons with 1/4 oz unsweetened bakers chocolate melted in cup mostly filled with water – microwave 2 min. then add the butter, coconut oil, cream & stevia.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2673798/ Protein restriction causes reduction in IGF-1. (IGF-1 stimulates cancer)
Our results showed a 70% inhibition of tumor growth in the castrate-resistant LuCaP23.1 prostate cancer model and a 56% inhibition in the WHIM16 breast cancer model fed with a 7% protein diet when compared to an isocaloric 21% protein diet.
studies suggest that dietary protein or essential amino acid restriction is more powerful than calorie or fat restriction in lowering the circulating levels of IGF-1
diet containing 20% plant protein inhibited tumor weight by 37% as compared to a 20% animal dairy protein diet.
